Her first assignment out of the country was  in New York, there she met Bullseye, over the next few years she had very loose relationship with him. She also met Elektra. When she left the HAND, Lana wanted nothing but kill her, but the HAND masters said the she still will play a major role in the future. Those two made a very good team. She always considered Elektra as a older sister. During an assignment to kill the governor of Ohio, she realized, that Elektra was right. so she allowed herself to be captured. She was given a choice between an early release serving with the Suicide Squad, or serving her time., a choice that was easy for her to make. When she did finished her time with the Suicide Squad, she opted to try her hand as a superhero. To that ends she flew up to Cleveland, Ohio and petitioned to join the LEGION, which had just reformed. Right after she got off the plane, she and Shadow Wing were battling an angelic being known as Gabriel. After the battle, Lana set about finding the LEGION. Mr. Madison, at first was taken aback by this new recruit, but gave her a probationary membership as he knew the details of her fight with Gabriel earlier at the airport.

Lana fit in well with the LEGION, and tried hard to reform, fighting her assassin training and methods. Since her time with the LEGION, her memories had come back to haunt her, particularly after she accidentally destroyed a helicoptor and killed three persons. Her memories of her being taken from her family, her memories of her training and having to kill her friends, made her unstable emotionally. She voluntarily gave up her sword, so it could be fitted with a device that could prevent her from killing with it again. During this time of crisis, she was abandoned by her goddess, but grew very close to Daytime, fellow LEGION member. It was also during this time she was exposed to the Terigen Mist, which granted her additional powers, though it also redically altered her appearance.
