Mikey was approached by a mysterious woman, with an offer to have powers, similar to Prowler. Mikey readily accepted, as he had hated Prowler and "muties" from the beginning. The fact that Prowler had infected Mikey gave him all the more reason to accept the offer. Mikey became the Element known as Earth, and agreed to keep his secret until the right time presented itself.

When the Heroez became aware of Prowler hosting the Voice, they came to the Homeless Shelter looking for him. It was the right time for the Elements to reveal themselves. They turned on Prowler, just before the Heroez showed up on the scene. The Elements battled the combined team of the Heroez and the Suicide Squad, fleeing the scene as firefighters arrived to fight the blaze that was encompassing the room.
