It was a week or two before Scarlet Speaker was healed enough to get back in action. In the meantime, Mr. Madison, had gone on the local news/talk show circuit to let Ohio know that the LEGION was back. Altier had spent the spare time granting Tower's Dreadnought a crude form of intelligence. He dubbed her Jane Doe. In the meantime, Plasticide had arrived at the mansion, following up a lead he had received while he was in Detroit. He was welcomed into the group as a probationary member. Plasticide revealed very little about himself, but did say he was a government employee at one time. He did reveal that the government had a role in granting him his specialized abilities. During a live interview Mr. Madison was doing with local channel WEWS, Rhino crashed through the set demanding Magnum and the LEGION. The LEGION, most of whom had just arrived at a movie theater, got the word via their watches, even as Rhino was threatening everyone on live television. Everyone quickly arrived onsite. Shadow Wing, who was watching the ordeal on the television, also went to the scene. The scene that greeted them was a nice path of destruction heading straight towards the WEWS studios, and many people fleeing the building that housed the studios. The group entered the building cautiously to find Gabriel battling Rhino, and the media taping the entire thing. Rhino managed to knock out Gabriel, and then turned his attention towards the new LEGION. Altier, Scarlet Speaker, and Mentallis were helping others flee the building, as Daytime, Shadow Wing, Plasticide, and Lana else dealt with Rhino. The Rapture showed up and the tides of battle soon turned towards the good guys. Rhino was soon captured. The Rapture left Rhino with the police outside, as Plasticide tried to do the same with the still unconscious Gabriel. Gabriel again disappeared mysteriously. In a rather tense moment, the LEGION and the Rapture spoke some words. The Rapture spoke of the second coming of Christ, which they were a prelude of. Shadow Wing was told divinely to deal with the nonbeliever, but refused. He was then decreed to stop Cadaver, a demon who was loose on the world. Shadow Wing coolly slipped out and returned back to his job at the museum, while the LEGION did not know what to make of the Rapture. Lana even went so far as to slice the bible of Leviticus. Mentallis thought it best if the LEGION just left before the situation got worse, and the   Rapture left the scene shortly thereafter.

The LEGION returned to the mansion while Lana was questioned about her actions (I.E. Slicing up the bible of Leviticus) Shadow Wing, in the meantime, had learned of the death of his grandparents at the hands of Cadaver. Lana had also received a divine call to stop Cadaver at all costs.  Jesse Messah, the alter ego of Scarlet Speaker, had received a call from Det. Matthew Jones of the Cleveland Police Department. Jesse responded right away to the summons, and went straight away over to the police station. While Altier was trying to get Jane Doe to realize she was a being of free will, Jesse had arrived at the Justice Center. Det. Jones told Jesse that someone, a cult most likely, had stolen the body of a being known as Capt. Cadaver. The being known as Capt. Cadaver went on a killing spree some fifty years prior, and his deceased body was sealed in storage in this special room in the morgue. Shortly after the body disappeared, Det. Jones also said that dead bodies have been turning up with cannibalistic wounds. Those bodies have also been disappearing from the morgue. Scarlet Speaker found clawed foot prints in the room, as well as what appeared to be a stake. While he was dispatched to a crime scene that was just found, Jane Doe, in an experiment of her free will (and with a perfect 69 roll on the die) proceeded to kick Altier through a wall. The only info gathered from the crime scene was hair that was not entirely human.

The Cannibal Killer was all over the news the following day, and Scarlet Speaker saw references to Elder while searching police records for more info about Capt. Cadaver. He tried calling his mentor, Mike the Elder, for further info about Cadaver. Jesse learned that Mike had captured Cadaver some fifty years ago using a stake that had been blessed by the Pope. He also heard that Cadaver had used many names during his lifetime, which went back at least to the time of the Black Death. While Jesse was going through police records, Daytime wanted to experiment with his powers, and flew over Lake Erie to try to create a sonic boom by clapping together using his massive strength. He overestimated his own powers, as soon a massive tidal wave was heading towards the Ohio shore. He did manage to stop it from doing any damage as he reversed it with another sonic boom. Back at the mansion, Jane Doe was being even more confused by Plasticide and Altier. After Speaker spoke with Mike, he called a meeting. Shortly thereafter, all the active members was at the mansion for the meeting. Speaker broke the news about Cadaver to the group. he shared what he knew of the situation, and while the group was talking about what to do about Cadaver, they were summoned to respond to paranormal activity at a homeless shelter. As they arrived at the homeless shelter, Altier charged right into the building. Everyone else got word from the police that had surrounded the building that there was blood and bodies everywhere, but then they lost contact with the ones they sent into the building. The LEGION entered the building, and couldn't help but notice the bodies. They also couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a family of survivors heading towards them. The LEGION quickly discovered that the family was not survivors, but probably the ones who caused all this destruction, as they attacked the LEGION. The LEGION had their hands full, but beheading them stopped their attack. The Rapture had entered the building and joined the fray, and soon the entire family was down, but Scarlet Speaker fell from the ceiling and was unconscious. Just then the headless bodies rose up and continued their attack against the two teams. Genesis of Rapture started a fire to stop them, and to stop the other dead bodies from coming back to life, while everyone else tried to stake as many as they could. The LEGION and the Rapture fled the building, satisfied they stopped more of these victims from becoming undead. The fire department reluctantly agreed to allow the fire to burn itself out. Scarlet Speaker was found to not be breathing and soon he was on an ambulance heading towards the local hospital. Meanwhile the Rapture, satisfied no more evil had to be stopped started preaching their propaganda again to the media. Altier and Lana searched the sewers for others that may have escaped the homeless shelter, but found nothing. Daytime followed the ambulance to the hospital, and the LEGION went back to the mansion, after a handshake with the Rapture. In all the ruckus the blessed stake was lost.

Later that night, the Cleveland Police had put Capt. Cadaver to the top of their wanted list. All officers were now carrying stakes to deal with all cannibalized bodies they came across. The LEGION, minus the injured Scarlet Speaker, was called for a conference meeting with the new head of the Cadaver case, Lt. Brynn.. A strange presence seemed to be with the LEGION at this meeting. Lt. Brynn wanted the LEGION and Rapture to work together searching the sewers for Cadaver and others he may have turned, while the police concentrated on basements. The LEGION agreed, realizing they had little choice but to work with the Rapture. The LEGION also was suffering because Plasticide, Daytime, and Mentallis was all bitten by the undead, and were feeling ill. It was agreed that everyone would meet in the Flats, by Tower City the following morning. The mysterious entity was discovered by Leviticus of the Rapture that morning, The mysterious entity did manage to find the location of a lair of these undead killers, before the groups met in the Flats. Plasticide was too sick to help, and Daytime defied Dr. Brandywine's order to help. The LEGION was an hour late for the meeting as they were rounding up all the common cures for vampirism (holy water, wooden stakes, etc.) The mysterious entity really spooked the groups, but apparently led them through the sewers towards the lair of the undead, where Leviticus and Altier were the first ones to do battle. An epic battle ensued, as the vampires/undead seemingly just kept coming. An odd telephone box then appeared in the sewers in the middle of the battle and out stepped a woman, who called herself the Doctor. Leviticus had finally succumbed to the sheer numbers of the undead and perished. Altier's hull was utterly destroyed, as both he and Daytime were stunned for varying amounts of time. The Doctor observed that the support was waning for the ceiling above them (which happened to be the 30 story BP Building), advised that everyone should leave as soon as possible. Matthew of the Rapture in anger over the death of Leviticus, brought the roof down on everyone. While Judges of the Rapture held the ceiling as best as he cold everyone else tried to make it into the telephone box that was called the TARDIS. All the LEGION made it to safety, but only Exodus of the Rapture made it into the TARDIS. Daytime even managed to bring along two of the vampires created by Cadaver.

Daytime, Altier, Mentallis, Lana, and Exodus were taken aback by the TARDIS, which was far larger on the interior, than on the exterior. The Doctor gave them a tour and then set about helping those who were hurt by the vampires. She had to fix Altier using some spare parts available to her, and the others were healed using the cell regeneration vaults within the TARDIS. The Doctor tried her best to explain herself and the TARDIS to her new passengers. No one knows how much time passed in the TARDIS, but the Doctor agreed that something had to be done to stop Cadaver. To that ends, she would try to stop Cadaver before he was freed from his eternal sleep, by journeying to a time just before Cadaver was freed. The TARDIS traveled to April 1, 1992, as the Doctor warned the heroes about avoiding their past selves. The arrival in the past was not unnoticed though. Past versions of both Plasticide and Scarlet Speaker noticed the new arrival. .The LEGION failed to notice Scarlet Speaker, who was trailing them., but quickly picked up on Plasticide. The very odd group hailed a cab after a rather funny scene where the Doctor emptied her pockets trying to find the money for the cab (LOL) and soon the group was on their way to the Justice Center where the body of Cadaver was being held. The group managed to convince the police they were there to examine a body in the morgue. Scarlet Speaker had been watching the whole scene overhead, and was surprised to see Plasticide shortly after the group had gotten their escort down to the morgue. The group was now searching the morgue for the room in which Cadaver was sealed, while Plasticide had managed to convince the police he was with the group they just let in. Unfortunately, the cop who escorted Plasticide down did not take lightly to seeing the group breaking into a sealed room, and all units were called to respond to the morgue for a breaking and entering. Plasticide stopped the cop from leaving as the group got into the room. They found a table in the room with a think layer of dust and ask, into which a stake was driven. Exodus volunteered to move the table, while Daytime would clear a path, so they could safely move it without disturbing the remains of Cadaver. Scarlet Speaker had been making his way downstairs to try to find out what this group of masked beings was doing. He entered the morgue and right away noticed what he thought was a theft in action by super-powered beings. He blasted both Exodus and Lana. Exodus collapsed hard and the table dropped when she lost consciousness. Capt. Cadaver was freed from his sleep. A cloud of dust filled the entire area, as Mentallis tried to convince Speaker they were friends. Daytime immediately noted that Cadaver was indeed coming back as there was a fleshy skeleton there now. Scarlet Speaker quickly realized just who the foe was when Cadaver stood up and said, "Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust. Cadaver is back, with an insatiable lust." The battle was going bad for the good guys when Daytime, after a particularly vicious bite from Cadaver, turned on them and protected Cadaver. Immediately Mentallis was down and out. The Doctor tried her best to battle Cadaver mentally, but soon had another idea. Scarlet Speaker had managed to get the stake. Cadaver was trying to escape in gaseous form, when the Doctor implanted a thought in the mind of Speaker. "Aim it for the heart with your TK!" Scarlet Speaker did just that, and Cadaver was stopped. The police arrived around that time, but the Doctor defused the entire situation and the group was allowed to leave peacefully with the remains of Cadaver. The remains of Cadaver was taken to the TARDIS, while the Doctor returned everyone back to their present time (of course she was a few weeks off her mark again). She also erased from the minds of Scarlet Speaker and Plasticide any memory they had of this encounter.
