Scarlet Speaker was interrupted that night very late by a call from his mentor, Mike the Elder. Mike said he needed help, and he wanted to meet him as his base. Speaker could think of only one place that could be deemed his base, and it was his apartment. Speaker flew down to Columbus, within the hour, to see what Mike wanted. He arrived at the apartment complex and found it eerily empty and quiet, which struck him as odd considering how close it was to the campus of OSU. He cautiously approached the actual apartment and noticed his door was slightly ajar. Because Mike was not known as a housekeeper, it was difficult to tell whether or not anyone had been in the apartment. A search of the apartment turned up few clues: a scrawled note on a tablet of paper, a newspaper, and the lack of anything showing he'd been there recently. The note said "Tower raided warehouse? Why?" Speaker went looking for a newspaper to try to identify which warehouse in an attempt to piece together where Mike could have gone. He found only one newspaper, but it was only the comics section. Trying to come up with the rest of the newspaper, Speaker went looking for a recycling bin. Not finding one, he rummaged through the garbage. He did indeed find the rest of the paper. The only mention of a warehouse burning was a large fire up in the Cleveland area. Speaker immediately took off in search of the warehouse. He found it without a problem, though there was not much left of it, just rubble. As he was communicating with the LEGION to get some answers about the fire he was surprised by 5 armored female beings. Tower introduced herself and asked nicely for Speaker to join her. Speaker, in a desperate measure, tried his best to escape but was tackled by one of Tower's Dreadnoughts quickly. He awoke in a stone chamber, stripped of everything with his chest heavily taped. Someone had been taking care of him and he had no idea how long he was out of it. He was also in a lot of pain. Within days of Scarlet Speaker disappearing and the Suicide Squad raid on the mansion (and subsequent computer screw-up), Mr. Madison contacted A-tech, a local company specializing in high-profile computers and robotics, about the LEGION computers. They sent over a mechanical artificial intelligence, Altier. Using info supplied by Mr. Madison, Altier tracked down one of the creator's of the PsYkOsIs virus that had infected the LEGION's system, and got all the information pertinent to getting the LEGION systems back up. Altier arrived at the mansion the following morning to diagnose the problem and fix it. Altier quickly surmised the system would have to be completely redone, as the virus had run it's course. Mr. Madison took it well, all things considered, when Altier got zapped by a electric beam coming from the system. Altier vanished and reappeared in what appeared to be a virtual world, created by a madman named Bug. Bug, questioned Altier briefly then promptly Mr. Madison appeared beside Altier. Altier, in the meantime, had just realized that he was utterly powerless in this virtual world. He had to use his willpower to try to exert control in the world. Unfortunately for Altier, he only managed to produce a couple of shamrocks under the feet of Bug. He did succeed in creating a shield around Mr. Madison though. The confrontation was a draw until Byte appeared to calm her brother down. The virtual world was crumbling when Bug finally gave in and let Altier and Mr. Madison free. They reappeared just beside an ATM machine in Los Angeles. They contacted the LEGION and took a Justice League boomtube back to Cleveland, Ohio, where a limo was waiting for them. It took Altier one and a half weeks to get the systems back up, but the data could not be replaced.
