Physical Description:
Arania is a very petite person. Her small
size belies her strength. She is also very beautiful. It is hard for her to be around
people, males in particular, without attracting attention. She usually dresses
comfortably, entailing a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, but when out feeding, dresses more
attractively. Her hair is long and black with brownish highlights. She also has pointed
elven ears.

LIMITATIONS:
All her mutant powers are specialized for insects and arachnids, for example she can
communicate with a spider or ants. Likewise with her teleportation, as long as the
creature being teleported is an insect or arachnid she knows of, she can bring them to her
location. Her teleportation was only discovered by her three years ago, while she was
reading about an African insect that she wanted to see, a few seconds later it appeared on
her leg.

Recently Arania had become paralyzed in a fight which somehow managed to do such severe nerve damage her body was unable to heal it. She is able to function normally with the help of an embedded computer chip and collar made for her by Celeste. The collar does not work on it's own, and when it is taken off, she can not move from her ribcage down.
WEAKNESS:
Arania is terrified of rodents, and she
bears a strong dislike of birds, especially those she knows to eat insects.
She does not react well to imprisonment, or seeing someone else in that position, same
goes for the idea of torture. (her reaction when exposed to it is unpredictable, though
usually she will either withdraw into herself or go into extreme anger at the source of
it)

She always carries a magnifying glass for closer inspection of insects she encounters.
At Christmas, she was given a necklace that allows her to take the form of any insect or
arachnid she can imagine, once per day. (see gift list for conditions)
She has recently given an inducer by Celeste. She wears it everywhere, clipped to her
necklace.
She also owns a pair of magic sunglasses which allow her to go out during the day.

HISTORY:
There was something special about Arania from the time she was born. When her mother took
her for her first walk in the park, she stopped to talk to another mother. When she looked
back to her baby, the stroller was covered in butterflies, and she could hear Arania
laughing and giggling at them. The strangeness really became noticeable when Arania
started school. she would sit on the playground and play with insects and spiders. When
she was in sixth grade and a teacher freaked out at finding a large cockroach sitting on
her desk, Arania's parents decided she would be better off homeschooled. They had long
since grown accustomed to the creatures their daughter attracted, and didn't make a fuss
unless they were found in the kitchen or on the table they ate at. Eventually Arania got
her high school diploma and went on to study entomology. She refused to dissect the
insects but was able to make up for that in other ways. She graduated with honors with a
degree in entomology and insect biology. She had been working at Long Beach University,
but all that changed in one night. She was going to do some research that night in a small
park, when she encountered a young woman being assaulted. She quickly found out that the
attacker was a vampire, the victim one of her students, Vanessa Smallwood. She managed to
drive off the vampire, but not before Vanessa had become one. On returning to the car, she
realized what had happened, and that was when April showed up, offering her help. They
ended up at Mira's where they've lived since. Since then, she's been working as a model,
been captured and escaped, which brought Kim into the picture. When Mira was kidnapped,
the group had to travel to her home dimension. While they searched for her, Arania and
April were possessed by elven spirits, which resulted in her ears and hair changing.
Things have become interesting lately as she has realized feelings for someone in addition
to Vanessa.
